Did you know your regular appointment with your Dental Hygienist is more than just a cleaning? In fact, your routine appointments include diagnostic and preventative services!
During your “cleaning” your dental hygienist examines your teeth, takes x-rays, and assesses your gum tissue; but that’s not all, they also inspect your biting, chewing and swallowing patterns, update your medical history and consider possibilities for cosmetic enhancements for your smile.
In terms of preventative maintenance, during your time in the chair your hygienist will screen you for oral cancer, check your blood pressure, apply fluoride to your teeth, as well as remove any plaque, tartar and staining you may have.
Lastly, you can also ask your hygienist for education on things like how to properly brush and floss your teeth or which nutrient rich foods you can eat to benefit your oral health. They can answer questions you have about current or future treatments including orthodontics and periodontal therapy.
Please don’t forget…good oral hygiene starts at home. Brushing your teeth twice a day, flossing daily, and eating healthy foods are just as important as regular dental hygiene appointments. If you have any questions about your own oral health, ask any of our hygienists at your next appointment.
If chipped, stained, or crooked teeth are “hiding” the real you, it may be time to consider veneers. Porcelain veneers will help you regain your smile!
Of all the methods available today for changing and improving the look of your smile, porcelain veneers are the most popular and successful with our patients. Do you suffer from crooked or stained teeth? Your tired smile can almost instantly be straightened and whitened.
The process involves removing a small fraction of tooth structure to make room for natural-feeling veneers. An outside dental lab uses unique artistic ability to create life-like restorations. After placement, the veneers look like natural teeth.
Cambrian Dental Centre utilizes the best and most technologically advanced tools and procedures.
We want your investment to last a lifetime. Did you know that porcelain veneers have advantages over bonding? These include increased longevity and resistance to staining. Veneers make you look younger and stand the test of time.
Sometimes, in spite of the best dental efforts, a tooth is lost. Often this is due to accidental trauma, or advanced tooth decay or gum disease.
Thanks to dental implants, we can now predictably and comfortably replace a missing tooth or teeth with implant-supported crowns. These look and function just like your own teeth. You brush and floss it like your own teeth.
A small screw-like fixture, made of medical-grade titanium, is placed into the tooth bone. After sufficient healing between the bone and the implant, a crown is placed on top of the implant.
Implants are known for providing very long-term trouble-free service.
Tooth Replacement is not limited to a single tooth at a time. Using multiple dental implants, you can have several missing teeth replaced, or all of them.
Tooth whitening is one of the most popular areas of cosmetic dentistry. At Cambrian Dental, we provide you with a host of solutions for bright smiles.
Are you a candidate for tooth whitening? Several factors can contribute to the fading of your teeth. Do you recognize any of these symptoms?
•Yellowing of the teeth
•Staining from red wine or coffee
•Dark marks
•Smoking
•Negative effects of certain medications.
If you have lost confidence in your smile, we can help you get it back with our tooth whitening system that has created dazzling white smiles for our patients year after year. Are you ready to turn back the clock and get that tooth whitening look of success? The Cambrian Dental Centre team is ready to make it a reality.
Tooth Replacement is not limited to a single tooth at a time. Using multiple dental implants, you can have several missing teeth replaced, or all of them!
In this example, the patient is missing 4 upper front teeth. By placing implants, we can attach a fixed bridge and cement it into place, giving the patient the look and function of their natural teeth back. This is a great way to get rid of metal partial dentures that cover your palate and stress your other natural teeth.

Sleep Apnea affects the way you breathe when you are sleeping. In untreated sleep apnea, breathing is briefly interrupted or becomes very shallow during sleep. These breathing pauses typically last between 10-20 seconds and can occur up to hundreds of times a night, jolting you out of your natural sleep rhythm. As a consequence, you spend more time in light sleep and less in the deep, restorative sleep you need to be energetic, mentally sharp, and productive the next day.
This chronic sleep deprivation results in daytime sleepiness, slow reflexes, poor concentration, morning headaches, irritability or mood changes and an increased risk of accidents. Sleep Apnea can also lead to serious health problems over time, including diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, and weight gain. But with treatment you can control the symptoms, get your sleep back on track, and start to enjoy being refreshed and alert every day.
Snoring itself does not necessarily mean that you have Sleep Apnea. It is true that loud snoring is common in people with this disorder, but there is a big difference between simple snoring and sleep apnea. Sleep Apnea must be diagnosed by a physician after testing at a sleep clinic. We can help treat sleep apnea with oral appliance therapy. If you think you may have this condition ,please contact our office at 705 949-4000 for more information.
